Just over two weeks after suffering fatal injuries when he was struck by a motorist impatient, Maggie the dog got out of livestock Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic this afternoon.

"She recovered faster than I expected," said Mike Dearmin veterinary surgeon.

Although Maggie faces at least two more months of recovery, with exercise limited to walking without a leash, Dearmin said he believes it will be able to return to farming.

"She's very smart, and makes a big difference," he said."Because it is a working dog, she would like to please and she was able to follow our instructions.
